Already a CASP
Home authority can be any of the 27. The Central Bank of Ireland is one route, not the only one. Credit institutions, EMIs and MiFID firms can notify to add crypto-asset services under the authorisation they already hold.
MiCA · CASP infrastructure · .ie
Twelve exact-match names for the service lines a CASP runs under MiCA — payments, stables, wallet, reserve, RWAs, tokenise, clearing, processor, custody, issuance, derivatives — plus the desk tickers XBT, XET, XAU, XAG, XPT, XPD, and ZEC. A CASP authorised in any member state can hold them. The passport is the Union: about 450 million people.
Not an Irish-only club. A CASP licensed in France, Germany, Malta, Lithuania — anywhere in the Union — can take the names, provided .ie can see a connection: an Irish entity, or trade into Ireland, which a passported firm already has once it serves Irish clients.
The point of the names
This is not an Irish-company product. MiCA authorisation in one member state is enough to provide those services across the Union. The .ie names are the Irish exact-match door a CASP already licensed in Paris, Berlin, Vilnius or Valletta puts on that passport.
Home authority can be any of the 27. The Central Bank of Ireland is one route, not the only one. Credit institutions, EMIs and MiFID firms can notify to add crypto-asset services under the authorisation they already hold.
The firm notifies host states, the services, and a start date. The home authority has 10 working days to forward it. No second licence. No branch required to serve clients in the other 26 countries — Ireland included.
A passported CASP serving, or about to serve, Irish clients has the connection .ie asks for. Trade into Ireland is enough. An Irish subsidiary is optional, not the price of entry.
Payments, stables, wallet, tokenise, RWAs, clearing and processor on the service lines. XBT and XET — Bloomberg’s XBT:CUR and XET:CUR — plus XAU, XAG, XPT, XPD and ZEC on the product doors. One brand family, every member state.
450 million is the passport, not the domain. One CASP authorisation, notified outward, covers the Union. These names are how that firm shows up on .ie — payments, stables, wallet, reserve, RWAs, tokenise, clearing, processor, and the tickers — without having to be an Irish company to start.
